The Brief

We have been commissioned to deliver an ident package or a programme package, including a title sequence for  Latest TV. This can be any combination of moving image, animation and motion graphics.

I will be allocated either a programme or the station idents, the Latest TV team are generating written briefs and guides for each of these. The brief will contain the contact information of the people responsible for the programme or the station branding I will be allocated, they will be my clients for this project. I need to communicate closely with them throughout the process, just as I would if I were a professional digital designer. Because I need to ensure my ideas and work in progress are meeting the requirements and expectations of my client, I need to arrange meetings and deadline points with them, and send or show them work digitally for discussion.

Instead of pitching to my classmates I am required to set a date to pitch to my clients and record the process in my blog.

The TV idents and programme packages need to be created at 1080p and title sequences should be exported as .movs. Latest TV may supply music for the packages, but this will not be ready for all. They are likely to commission original music for programme and ident packages that they intend to use, but I should use or create a basic copyright clear sound track consisting of any combination of music, sound effects and rhythm track. I am required to submit one version of my work with the sound and one without. I will also need to make my working files available to the Latest team, to enable them to make changes after this project is finished. All media that are linking into my video editing and motion graphics need to be included with the working files, making it too big to upload to Hercules, so the working files should be collected onto a hard drive on deadline day.
